To do this painting you will have to have paintshop pro version 8 and good working knowledge of psp. This tutorial is not on painting, its on adding "washes" to your paintings and photos.
Step one:New Image, 640/450, 200 resolution, white background. Flood fill Grad: black and white with white on bottom. Blend mode: luminance. Section the bottom of the sky with rectangle and floodfill with grad:black and white with white up, luminance blend mode. Do this couple times.
New Layer. Airbrush - dry brush. Fill in a land shape. reflection, smudge brush, pull down into water. Add water line.
New layer. paintbrush, paint a tree. use dry brush to paint leaves and land.
Now for the washes of color. New Layer. rectangle section to the tree from the left, not taking in the tree. floodfill, grad. landscape night with dark side down. remove marching ants and blend the two sections together with the smudge brush untill you can't see the line. go to the layer palette and change opacity down to 26
Add new layer. Rectangle section on the left hand side. floodfill with grad. landscape night with dark purple to the left ( angle:90). Remove marching ants and blend the two sections together. Layer Palette, change opactiy to 28. Add purple to the tree trunk and add grass is you would like. Sign it and frame it.
Now for washes..they can be in bold colors or pastel colors..You can use grads to colors. you can use spray brush to floodfill..Experiment and have fun.
